Station: [48] Corinth
Paul tells us: This is Corinth. I was here for a year and a half. You can see the Temple of Apollos in the center. We have a theater and a music house right next to each other. And if you're looking for a bathhouse, we have several beautiful ones. You can also discover a synagogue and much more. The thing that is not consistent in this plan is the proximity of the harbor. It is much further away. Corinth has two harbors. The ships were towed overland to the other port, which saved a long sea voyage. Because of the many sailors, there were also many prostitutes here. So many that they were called "Corinthian girls" throughout the Roman Empire. I later wrote two letters to this community here after I had left the city. You may know my hymn about love from them.
