The Lohr School Museum is more than just an exhibition – it's a particularly enlightening experience!
Located in the Sendelbach district of Lohr, the municipal school museum offers visitors far more than 3,000 exhibits spanning 200 years of educational history. Here, they can immerse themselves in the topic of schooling. Two fully furnished classrooms and a teacher's apartment bring the past to life.
Interactive Tour: Experience a Classroom Session from the Kaiser Era Live
The museum focuses on two main periods: schooling in the Kaiserreich (1871-1918) and during the Third Reich. In both eras, schools were misused to propagate the societal order and ideologies of the regimes. The museum's aim is to showcase schools as reflections of society. Accordingly, groups and school classes are warmly invited to book an interactive tour in the form of a "class session." Max Liedtke, Professor of Education and Museum Educator, ranks the Lohr School Museum among the most nationally and internationally attractive school museums.
