Since 2019, the Kulturhaus Gallery has focused on inclusivity. We showcase "Outsider Art" – artistic creations by individuals with physical, mental, or psychological disabilities. On our exhibition space of approximately 100 m2, you will see works that often feature an unconventional visual language. These pieces, largely untouched by contemporary art trends, captivate with their boundless imagination and unique visual style. Some of the artists receive supportive assistance in art therapy facilities and art workshops. For our work, we collaborate with institutions from Spandau and other districts of Berlin. Additionally, we present exhibitions where the works of both impaired and non-impaired artists are displayed together. We create space for artists to meet in advance, collaboratively develop suitable exhibition concepts, select works, and organize accompanying events. A third exhibition format at the Kulturhaus Gallery is the photographic presentation of inclusive art projects that take place elsewhere. The Kulturhaus Gallery is one of a total of 36 municipal galleries in Berlin.
In addition to exhibitions, the gallery space also serves as a venue for smaller concerts and children´s theater performances.
