Das Dorfmuseum Markersdorf, das einzige professionell betriebene landwirtschaftliche Freilichtmuseum im Landkreis Görlitz, bietet den Besuchern neben historischem Ambiente auch lebende Hofbewohner… und nicht zuletzt den Hofkater Jamal.

History comes to life at this traditional farmstead, which is some 250 years old. It is a Vierseithof, a regular courtyard plan steading with buildings surrounding the yard on all four sides. This authentic smallholding with its fully preserved furnishings opens a door on to the past. At Markersdorf Village Museum, the only professionally run open-air agricultural museum in Görlitz district, visitors not only experience the historical ambience, they also encounter the steading’s living occupants ... not least Jamal, the farm’s resident tomcat.

Na téměř 250-letém statku vládnou opět staré časy. Tato malá hospodářská usedlost s plně zachovaným zařízením a vybavením nám otevírá dveře do minulosti. Muzeum vesnice Markersdorf je jediným hospodářským statkem v okrese Görlitz, který je provozován jako muzeum. Návštěvníci si zde můžou nejet prohlédnout historické budovy a předměty, ale dokonce se zde seznámí s obyvateli statku … a především se zdejším kocourem s exotickým jménem Jamal.
