Station: [44] Thessalonica
Paul speaks to the members of the church in Thessalonica: "Do you know who you are? You are my hope - before God! You are also my joy - you are in a sense my honor, also my pride. You are worth it - that I have come here to Thessalonica - and am not just writing to you from afar - and that I am now working with you here in Thessalonica - and sweating - and love being with you! We suffered a lot before in Philippi and were mistreated, as you know. We met you as a mother cares for her children. We not only wanted to give you the gospel, but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us. We worked day and night so as not to be a burden to any of you. Now I haven't seen you for a long time. I wanted to come to you twice already. For who is our joy and our hope if not you?
