Station: [11] Sylvana Schubert Pottery
F: Hand-made utilitarian pottery and individual pieces in simple, bulbous or straight shapes. A natural light or dark colour and surface design – that's what you can expect from Sylvana Schubert's ceramics.
M: From plates, cups, planters, vases and jugs to hanging pots and jewellery – Sylvana Schubert is a master potter with an extensive repertoire. Her range depends on current orders and commissions and can be viewed in the sales room behind her workshop.
F: She's been running the only pottery in the Thalbürgel district since 2005. A branching bough at the entrance to the courtyard points the way to her workshop.
M: Sylvana Schubert completed her apprenticeship in Bürgel, then qualified as an instructor and finally passed her master's exam in Dresden. In 2005, she set up her own business and developed her own unique design vocabulary.
F: The range of services she provides is no less individually tailored than her pottery. She offers workshops on request, where anyone with an interest can gradually ease into working with clay. By appointment, she can also organise children's birthday parties for small groups – which of course include kneading and modelling with clay.
